When I was pregnant, I developed a serious sweet tooth.

Not that I didn’t like sweets before, but something happened once I got pregnant that made me crave anything with sugar. Brownies, ice cream, muffins, you name it-I craved it all. And I had a serious weakness for chocolate chip cookies. Well it’s not surprising that by my due date I had gained over 45 whopping pounds. I felt huge, and the August heat and swelling made me feel even bigger. I thought, for sure once the baby’s born I will be able to get a handle on it, but little did I know how demanding new parenthood can be! I continued to rely on sugary treats to get me through a tough day, or to reward myself when things were going well (as in “I was up four times last night, I deserve a piece of cake”-sound familiar?) As a health coach, I knew I had become a classic example of what I would tell my clients not to do, yet I kept finding myself going back to the cookie jar. At nearly 4 months post-partum I was still wearing maternity pants and feeling like I’d never get back to my old self again. Something had to give.

I decided it was time to tackle my sugar cravings head on.

I took myself off sugar for a few weeks. And that’s when the magic happened. Not only did I lose weight without really trying (no more maternity jeans!) for the first time in 6 months I had absolutely no cravings. None. The best part was that I didn’t deny myself of sweets either, I just got a little more creative in the kitchen. I put together this program to help you tackle your own sugar cravings and see how sweet real food can taste, guilt-free (if you have sugar during the 2 weeks it’s ok too!) It’s not about deprivation, I promise!
